Shopping

Do: Give the gift that keeps on giving - self-care. Show your friends and family how much they mean to you with a set of clean, high-performance skin products. Our go-to clean beauty boutique in D.C. is Ivy Wild Beauty, at Manhattan Laundry. Ivy Wild is located just off of energetic 14th St., which means it’s the perfect one-stop-shop location. Go ahead, stop in, chat with their amazing team and learn a thing or two about how to treat your loved ones (and yourself!) in 2019.

Don’t: Buy your loved ones a gift they won't use. There’s nothing worse than spending hours shopping for a gift that you know will sit on someone's shelf for months.

Sightseeing

Do: Visit the Downtown Holiday Market! Located just steps away from the Chinatown Metro station, this winter wonderland boasts more than 100 exhibitors with beautiful lights, live music and Christmas cheer for everyone. We recommend visiting in the afternoon or popping in before a late night dinner reservation.

Don’t: Wear tennis shoes. We all know what a D.C. “winter” really mean - rain. D.C. is a super walkable city, but without the proper footgear, you can kiss dry toes goodbye. Invest in a pair of comfortable, waterproof boots for winter this season. Our favorites? Hunter and Sorell.

Cooking

Do: Plan a dish for everyone. In 2018, you never know who’s eating what these days. Play it safe this year and ensure there's a dish to accommodate everybody's dietary needs. Better yet, reach out to your guests ahead of time and see what’s on their no-no naughty list.

Vegan stuffing and gluten-free cookies? Check!

Don't: Forget to treat yourself and enjoy. This is the season of celebrating. Enjoy the extra holiday cookie without regret.

New Year’s Eve

Do: Come up with a plan in advance. We recommend grabbing a ticket to ZIRKUS, by Sauf Haus. This NYE party offers various ticket levels, including an open bar, a champagne toast, a live DJ and hors-d'oeuvres all night! Complete with a freaky circus theme, ZIRKUS will have live performers and a beautifully exotic design. In our opinion, this is one of the best deals in D.C.!

Grab your tickets HERE.

Don’t: Fall asleep at 10:00 p.m. This is your last chance to rid yourself of all that 2018 juju and set your intentions for 2019 with friendship, fun and FOOD. If there’s one night to stay up, it’s tonight. Props to all those who still make it to their 6:00 a.m. workout classes on January 1.
